So a CrossFit gym opened up yesterday at my favorite mall (NCCC) here in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan, the CrossFit Heiroglyph.
Me and my sister (Sheena) were the first ones to sign up.
I'll be documenting our CrossFit journey and this is the first entry.

A month ago, while browsing my Facebook newsfeed, I came accross a sponsored ad featuring CrossFit Heiroglyph inviting people to their grand opening on August 1. Having the desire to be a member of a gym where there are coaches and a community of gym goers, I checked it out. I have absolutely zero idea what Crossfit is so I learned that the movement originated in the USA and it involves strength, flexibility, balance, and health building. I was scared at first (I still am actually) when I saw what people were doing in CrossFit. They were lifting 100 kg barbels, pulling themselves up ropes, lifting heavy (20-50kg) balls over their heads, doing gymnastics, and the models were all so fit. I thought, "Oh darn, it's not for me." Then I saw videos of really curvy ladies like me doing it. I mean, they can't do it like the thin people can but they are TRYING. And they get better through time. I thought, "Maybe I can do this too."
From that moment I was decided I'd join the gym and stay no matter what. I had no idea where my finances will come from but I knew I'll be one of the first batches to try the gym out.

CrossFit Heiroglyph in Puerto Princesa. Day 1.
Because I believed it, it happened. Sheena and I tried the first free session. Yes, they offered a free hour for new clients. They had classes from 6:30 am through 10:00 pm. The only free session (we thought)  was @ 5:00 pm so that's the session we registered for. Coming to the door, my sister and I were like, "Whoa, foreigners." There were more or less 13 students that hour and only 5 are Pinoys. A very beautiful Spanish girl greeted us in, talked to us in english and asked us to sign up for the session. I have a lot more kwento but it's already 1 am. I have to sleep for my muscles sake.
